Love Tartan

We've barely had a summer and already we are starting to think about and see our fall wardrobes appear in what we buy and magazines! I've only just got my summer clothes down from storage, and already it seems that after this heatwave, thought to last a few short weeks I will be returning my linens, and light weight dresses back to their slumber, to await next summer. How depressing is that?!

However there is one saving grace that makes thinking about fall a whole lot easier and exciting... Chanel.

Pictures from 'ELLE' Magazine.

Think 'Rob Roy', think back to the time when girls were taught how to sew embroidery, expected to do so and not much else. Think heritage, shooting parties, of a style/print you associate with half naked men! Think diamond printed socks, wooly jumpers, scarfs that wrap around your neck more than twice and still have more to go. Think tights, and socks, and leg warmers, and boots. Big brooches, itchy layers and big collars on everything, just in case you need that extra material when your cold or want to add excitement to a mundane white shirt.

I've only just got excited about summer but this one style/print is enough to make me want to cry out for winter, cold snowed in days, walking the dogs in the countryside and coming home to a log burning fire.

Pink

This was the night of a school ball that I attended with my mum and sister. Not normally one for pink, I decided this would be the perfect event and the perfect outfit to break my mould!!!
My hair and make up was done by the brilliant Zoe Jazstal and Laura Hoffman from Silhouette Du Barry in Chelmsford. I had hair extensions to add volume and curls. And for make up I had dark, almost black eyes edged in pink with some crystal eyelashes. The make up on my face was kept very plain and minimal, obviously except from my eyes and mouth which was also a very bright pink. (All Mac make up)

My nails were pink gel from Jessica, done by my lovely friend Stef at Alison Byrne Health and Beauty in Colchester.

After spending hours getting ready and prepared, this was the final results and I have to admit, I love Pink, especially my 'Love Me' heels by Charlotte Olympia.

After a very long night of dancing to every song and still trying not to have my phone taken away by the head mistress for tweeting, instagraming, facebooking, snap chatting and any other social media app  these are the pictures that best sum up my outfit... Pink, Pink and More Pink!

Never mind about mans best friend... he's my best friend!

Today I dedicate my post to my pooch Mungo.

When I started university three years ago I was going through a really tough time. By the first Christmas I was out of halls and living in a house on my own. My Sister back at home had been bought a Schnauzer puppy and my mum encouraged me to get one too... enter Mungo!
He helped me through my three years at uni, kept my company in a house on my own, new when I was upset and would always be more than willing to jump on the sofa with me and have a cuddle, would play with me, eat ice cream and be a real cutie when my friends popped over.

Now we are back home at my families house with his friend Ludo (now my mums salt and pepper Schnauzer) and between the pair of them they get extremely dirty, make a lot of noise, get into all sorts of mischief but at the end of the day love nothing more than coming in to sit by the fire and have a cuddle and maybe a biscuit!

I couldn't imagine how different my uni life would have been without Mungo. He really was my rock, my little baby and always there for me. At first it was like having a baby and I wasn't sure if I was ready for the responsibility but three years on and I couldn't imagine my life without him.

I would strongly recommend to anyone that although having a dog is sometimes hard work and yes its tough having to leave them during the day whilst your at work or uni but the great times you have with them out weighs any of that. For me, having Mungo was a great way for me to grow up and take care of someone else besides myself, ok I know he can't talk or make me a cup of tea but he always manages to cheer me up and does the same for anyone else that might be feeing a bit down, plus as you can see from the pictures, he's more like a baby than he is a dog, the amount of time he spends in someones arms or lap asleep.

A dog is for life and definitely not just for Christmas or to help you through some bad times like Mungo did me, and now we've got through that stage in my life I still wouldn't change having him for the world.

Call it a 'Brow-mance'

Thanks to Cara Delevingne, eyebrows have never been more popular and such a statement as they are now... so don't be afraid or hold back, let those babies grow!

Tint them darker or lighter (think Rooney Mara in 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo') for that extra wow factor!

Its Burlesque

One of the songs featured in the film 'Burlesque' with Cher and Christina Aguilera and the rest was outright CRAZY!!!!

If you haven't already, I would extremely suggest seeing a Burlesque show! It may not be your 'cup of tea' but you will have a great night... delicious cocktails, fun music and fabulous costumes!

Enjoy!!!
